WHY CHALK?

Park on 6 is an event to bring together the CCS community while emphasizing the importance of city parks. The event is open to current CCS students and faculty only.Blow of some steam, eat some food, have some fun. As has recently come to light, Mayor Bing has announced the closing of over 50 parks in Detroit this spring. This event seeks to bring awareness to how parks play an integral part in any community. Without parks, we as Detroiters suffer. The neighborhoods affected by this decision lose an important asset that could provide recreation, community building, and a safe environment for children.

WHAT'S GOIN' ON HERE?

Park on 6 will turn the 6th floor of the parking structure into a park. The event takes place on April 9th from 11 until 4. There will be 4-square, hopscotch, chalk drawing area, food, and a picnic area. There will be an area for leisurely chalk drawing where everyone can build a mural, along with an area for competitive drawing. The 4-square game will be competitive. You can sign up for either competition below, or just show up to enjoy the festivities. Winners will recieve a trophy.
